If you were told you could only keep one element of your child’s birthday party, what would it be?  Chances are it would be the blowing out of the candles and the cutting of the cake. When all is said and done you can do without the games and the party bags. The core part of a child’s birthday party is the cake.

A lot of kids these days zone in on the shop bought cakes. There is generally a good selection and most are  decorated in the current most popular themes.

That is not to say all children go for the pre prepared option.  Some  kids like a more unique birthday cake.

This can strike terror into unfortunate parents who feel their cake making skills are not up to scratch. I know I have been that parent.
