PARTY GAMES AND PARTY BAGS

Partyproductsdirect.co.uk are specialists in the area of party bags including pre filled party bags and party bag toys.  As part of our service we have included a blog with tips and advice not only about party bags but also on all the other elements that contribute toward a successful party. If you are a parent reading this blog and have any tips and advice you would like to share with other parents please feel free to post a message. I am sure the other readers will appreciate the advice. Now back to party games and in this post I will focus on games of the more active variety.

SPIDERS WEB

This game is similar to a three legged race except it involves more players. You will need two good lengths of medium thickness rope depending on the number of players.

Divide the guests into two teams, about 10 on each is about right.  Connect all the players with the rope by tieing it around their ankles. Basically each team is now like a big spider.  On the command each team tries to make their way to a designated finish line. This is a really good game that involves coordination and team work.  Adult supervision will be required for both teams so extra  help would be useful.

BREAK THE CHAIN

You will probably recognise this game but perhaps under a different name. This game needs a good bit of space, something around 25 ft wide by 25ft  depending on the number of guests. You will know what feels right when you are marking out the a area.

Start by getting all the guests to line up side by side, a hand’s length apart, facing in the same direction (toward you).  Select three of the guests to act as catchers and bring them forward about 10-15 feet in front of the line of guests. There job is to stop the line of guests running past them and reaching the other side of the hall / garden.

The “catchers” must stay in a line. On the appointed command the other guests run forward and try to get pass the “catchers”. At first only one or two will get caught. They then join the “catchers”.  Eventually there will be more catchers than runners and the game will come to an end when there is only one runner left.

This game is surprisingly popular and once the children start playing it it will be hard to move onto another game.

FIREMAN

All children, particularly boys, would like to be firemen. This games taps into that interest. You will need two chairs, 2m of rope / string or a bell / buzzer and two jackets (something resembling a fireman’s jacket would be good). Firstly place the two chairs back to back about 1 m apart. Turn the jackets inside out and place them on the backs of the chairs. Put the string / rope
under the chairs.

Both players sit on the seats and on the command jump up, unfold the jackets and put them on making sure to button all the buttons, run round to the other chair, sit on it and pull the rope or ring the bell. If you had any fancy dress firemens helmets then all the better.

Party games are an essesential element of any childs birthday party so make sure you are wll prepared.  Some parents are unsure as to whether
or not they should give out prizes at the end of each game. As with most things relating to a child’s birthday party there are no hard and fast rules.
However if you do decide to give out prizes then I would suggest that nobody loses out.  So to keep the cost down and keep everyone interested why not
use party bag presents as the prizes. There is a great selection available and they will not cost a fortune.

Outdoor Party Games and Party Bags

When planning a party there are many elements to consider including the party games and party bags. These elements may seem unrelated but did you ever think of using prizes from the games as party bag presents

Outdoor Games and Party Bags

CHILDRENS OUTDOOR PARTY GAMES

When it comes to pulling together a party there are many things to consider including the venue, guest list and party food.  However there is one element that is unique to childrens parties and that is the going home present or party bag.  When it comes to assembling party bags there are many and varied options.  Most parents assemble the party bags from scratch but recently the choice of pre filled party bags has increase quite dramatically.

The whole subject of party bags is covered in other sections of the blog and in this post I will focus on outdoor games for childrens parties.

Most party games are just variations of a central theme

1. Egg and Spoon Race : This needs no introduction. Using patatoes instead of eggs is highly recommended

2. Sack race. Children step into a sack. Pull it up around themselves and hop to the finish line on the command of the starter.

3. Three legged Race. be careful with this one. There can be injuries. In this race children are paired off with someone roughly the same height. There two inside legs are tied together and wrapping there arms around each other for support, they run towards the finish line.

4. Wheelbarrow race. In this race the children also compete in pairs. One child bends over with hands on the ground, the other child picks up their legs, and they proceed to run on their hands.

5. Balloon Race. Two teams line up and pass a balloon to each other between their knees.

The games above are very easy to organise and I am sure you have come across them before, or at least some version of them.

The games above would be suitable for children between the ages of 5 and 8. For that age group, when it comes to deciding on the party bags try matching the presents to the theme as the children are now old enough to notice and attention to detail. At one party my child made toffe apples and he was presented with  it beautifully wrapped in a cellophane party bag when going home. It was a super success and one idea that I will use myself.
