SELECTING A PARTY VENUE
A children’s birthday is potentially a stressful affair so take the worry out of the occassion by getting everything in place so you can enjoy yourself as well.

One aspect of the party that you will need to decide upon is the location. There are basically two choices. A party hosted in your home or one hosted at an alternative location.
If the Summer turns out to be half decent then there is the option of a picnic. This takes quite a bit of organisation and is a topic I will return to.
The options open to parents these days is massive with many clubs and leisure centres hiring out party rooms and facilities. Before going ahead and bookin a party venue you should ask.
1. Will there be a defined area for your group. If not control maybe an issue. The last thing you want is for a child to get lost and upset.
2. What is the price per head and what does it include. Don’t forget you also
need to include the adults who will be attending.
3. How much time will you have.
4. Where are the bathrooms located. Remember you do not want to have to trek “miles” with children who want to
use the toilet.
5. What type of activities are organised, if any
6. Are there any safety requirements.
7. How far in advance do you need to book. If you want to host the party on the actualy birthday you will need to book well in advance.
The quality of party venues is improving all the time with the proliferation of activity centres. Older kids in particular can have a really good day out.
