At the end of every party it is traditional to say “thank you ” by giving the guests a party bag filled with an assortment of treats. It seems like a simple task not requiring much thought, but as with most things regarding your childs party there are a number of options. Below are some which you may want to consider.

Party Bags : The Activity Option
When hosting a party for your child it is not unusual to have a range of craft activities organised for the children. In fact some parties are solely based on a craft activity such as pottery and painting. There are venues that specialise in hosting craft parties where they will also supply food and refreshments. If you have hosted a party in a venue that you were happy with please let us know and we will include their details on our website.
Getting back to the party bags, it can be a good idea to incorporate the item(s) the guests made during the party into their going home present. If you want to follow this idea then it pays to be very organised during the craft activity. It is vital to ensure that you put the right “creation” into the right party bag. Putting the items into the wrong party bag could cause “difficulties” as the party guests are
leaving.
Party Bags : Do it Yourself

The first option for a home made party bag is to get some crinkly wrapping used for flowers, a plastic juice bottle, this can be in the choosen party theme, fill the juice bottle with colouring pencils or similar party bag fillers and tie the wrapping over the top, securing with ribbon. and the possibilities / variations are endless.
A second option is to just simply get a bunch of helium quality ballons, again this can match the choosen party theme, fill them with helium and leave at the door at the end of the party so the guests can take one home on the way out. A third option takes a bit of dedication. In the months preceeding your childs party keep an eye out for special offers or “give aways” on the internet or local shops. Party Invitations
So you have set the date, now all you have to do is write the invitations? WRONG .Before writing the party invitations you must decide on the number of guests and where the party is to be held. Most children want to invite the whole class to their party , particularly during the first few years at school. On the other hand if your house has plenty of available space then hosting a party at home can be a very socialable event, particularly if some of the parents stay.
A party can also involve extended family so when preparing the party invitations consider the extent of family involvement. For example will any of the relatives be elderly and if so will there be access problems if the party is been held outside the home.
When sending your party invitations be sure to keep a note of those who were supposed to receive one. In many cases invitations are distributed in the school by the birthday boy / girl and it is not unheard of for a few invitations to go missing.

It could be argued that the choice of party theme should have been dealt with first, but we had to start somewhere!. Most children have a very clear idea of the theme they want for their party and not much guessing will be required. The release of a new film can also be a deciding factor when choosing a party theme. Party Games
No childs party is complete without an abundant stream of party games. Not only are they expected but they are essential. It would be nearly impossible to survive 2 -3 hrs with a group of highly active children intent on enjoying themselves without a well organised plan for the party activities.
Before describing individual party games the following points should be considered.
1. The more help you have the better, especially if the children are younger, getting relatives to help or asking some parents to stay is not an optional extra, it is essential. For older children, 6 upwards, the party activities can usually be managed by a couple of adults.
2. Always have more party games planned and organised than you think will be required. The games will be over quicker than you planned and it is important to keep the momentum going once the activities start.
